Rules for Entry

  • All entries must have been produced in the U.S. between 09/01/2009 and 08/31/2010.
  • Entries are limited to business-to-business communications. No consumer marketing materials will be accepted. Business-to-business (B2B) describes commerce transactions between businesses, such as between a manufacturer and a wholesaler, or between a wholesaler and a retailer.
  • Entries that have previously won a Lantern Award or Award of Excellence are ineligible.
  • Entries must have been produced in Texas or for use by a Texas company.
  • All entry forms must be filled out and submitted through the website. See Entries.
  • For each entry, clearly indicate the category in which you want your work to compete.
  • Each entry must include a statement of objectives, strategy, target audience and results of the entry.
  • Entries may be submitted to more than one award category.
  • Entry fees are calculated based on the number of entries and the number of categories into which they are entered. (i.e., a single entry submitted to two categories will incur two entry fees.)
  • Each entry must include:
    • Video file(s) or web link(s) which illustrates why the entry should win in that award category, if the entry falls within Category A-C.
    • Board(s) with the entry mounted and displayed per regulations, if the entry falls within Category D-R.
  • Best of Show Award winners are requested to attend the awards ceremony for recognition.

How is your Entry Judged?

A panel of three recognized business-to-business marketing professionals will review each entry.

They are instructed to consider the "AIDA" principles when reviewing entries - how well they believe each entry would generate Attention, Interest, Desire and Action from a targeted business audience.

Thoroughly completing all of the criteria is the best way to help the judges properly score your entry.

For best results, be brief but as descriptive as possible. See our Tips for Success
